MOSCOW, Mar 22 (PRIME) -- The international community should coordinate its efforts to fight terrorism and Tuesday’s blasts in Brussels again stress this necessity, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said, as cited by the government’s press office.
“We strongly condemn this barbaric crime against civilians. These events once again underline the need of coordinated efforts of the international community to fight terroristic threats,” Medvedev said.
Two blasts ripped through a Brussels airport at around 10:00 a.m. Moscow time Tuesday and were followed by an explosion in the city’s metro, with over 20 people killed and dozens injured under the latest data available.
The Federal Air Transport Agency is enhancing aviation security measures at all airports, and all Russian flights scheduled for Brussels are redirected to other European airports. The watchdog also expects the E.U. authorities to tighten security measures that can affect operations of Russian airlines flying to Brussels and other E.U. cities, Director Alexander Neradko told reporters.
National flagship carrier Aeroflot has cancelled two out-and-return Moscow–Brussels flights scheduled for late Tuesday. The carrier also does not recommend travel to or from Brussels to its clients until Saturday.
